A Letter from Theo: Not A Grandiose Statement.
Theo here. I’ve been asked to write something about myself as I’m about to go to university.
I’m off to study History and Politics at Warwick, which I’m genuinely looking forward to. I’ve always been into history, and got more into politics in the last two (eventful) years. I appreciate that lots of people find both boring, so I won’t bang on about the Crimean War or neoliberalism.
I’ve never really had to cook for myself, so that’s going to be a novelty. I’ve found that however much my mum tries to get me to cook, ultimately even if I do nothing, I will still get a square meal at the end of the day. I’m painfully aware that’s going to change.
There’s other stuff at uni apparently, like binge drinking and clubs. I’m going to join a five a side because I’m boring and like football, but otherwise god knows.
It would be great if I could make some grandiose statement linking this to Open House, like something to do with historical changing of the seasons traditions or the politics of running a cafe. But I don’t really have anything to say on that matter.
I think that’s all I have to say.
Thank You Theo!
Thank you so much Theo for being part of the OH team since the very early days and helping us to find our feet. We’ve watched you grow from being a new team member to leading the barista training on the new coffee machine during the most recent training day, and that’s been such a joy for us to see. It’s been fantastic to get to know you and have you around more during your exam period and Summer holidays.
We wish you the very best as you venture into this new chapter in your life and hope to see you again soon in a few months. Warwick is very lucky to have you!
